Singing Harmony Since 2008
The Marcsmen are San Antonio’s premier men’s a cappella group, and members of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The group was formed by a number of Texas State University music students, and won the inaugural Barbershop Harmony Society Youth Chorus contest in 2008. Since becoming a full-fledged chapter of the BHS, we have won the Southwestern District championship in 2012, 2018, and 2019 making us the current Southwestern District Champions in back-to-back years. We recently represented the District in the 2019 International Competition in Salt Lake City, Utah, finishing 11th overall with a score of 85.2% - our highest ranking and score ever!
We have also competed at International in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2018. We placed 13th overall in the world in 2013, the highest International finish in Barbershop Harmony Society history for a group of less than 29 men on stage.

What We Do
Our Mission
The Marcsmen's mission is to foster a culture of entertainment excellence in performance in order to enrich lives through men's a cappella music with professionalism, the pursuit of excellence, integrity, and brotherhood.
Perform
The Marcsmen have several performances throughout the year including a show in the spring and our annual Christmas show. We also perform at other various festivals including the Children’s Chorus of San Antonio’s “Boys to Men” concert, corporate events, fund raisers, private parties, and more.

Sing
The Marcsmen are an all-male a cappella chorus that primarily sings in the barbershop style, however, we do sing songs in other genres such as pop, gospel, jazz, and the sacred. We strive to create beautiful harmony for all to hear.
National anthem
The Marcsmen have performed the National Anthem at multiple sporting and business events around the community including the National Postal Forum, the San Antonio Spurs, San Antonio FC, San Antonio Rampage, and the former San Antonio Commanders games.
Compete
The Marcsmen compete annually at the Southwestern District contest. The chorus has also appeared at five BHS International Chorus competitions. We are currently ranked 11th internationally with our performance at the 2019 International competition in Salt Lake City!

Youth in Harmony
The Marcsmen attend music camps and events that target youth singers to work with students to learn about a cappella singing and how to improve their skills as a performer.
